Hypnosis World Mid-America Conference
Code of Conduct
Welcome to the Hypnosis World Mid-America Conference!
We’re absolutely thrilled to have you here—whether you’re a seasoned professional, passionate student, or curious newcomer, you’re part of something truly special.
Our goal is to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and energizing for everyone. To help make that possible, we’ve put together a few shared guidelines. Think of this as our collective commitment to kindness, professionalism, and community.
1. General Guidelines for a Smooth Experience
-
Name Badges: Please wear your official badge at all times. It helps us keep the event secure and makes connecting with others a breeze!
-
Room Seating: Sessions are first come, first served. If your first choice fills up, we invite you to check out another amazing speaker on the schedule.
-
Recording: Out of respect for our presenters, personal recordings (audio or video) aren’t allowed unless you have their express permission.
-
Sales & Promotions: If you’re showcasing a product or service, please use your assigned vendor booth or networking times. Let’s keep sessions focused on learning and inspiration.
2. Professional Conduct & Community Values
-
Respect for All: Every attendee deserves to feel valued and welcome—regardless of background, identity, or belief system. Please be kind, curious, and open.
-
Consent in Demonstrations: If you volunteer for a demo, you’ll always know what you’re participating in. Presenters will clearly explain and ask for your full consent.
-
Privacy Matters: Some sessions include sensitive case examples. Please respect the confidentiality of anything shared in trust.
-
Honesty in Information: Let’s share only what we know to be true. Hypnosis is powerful—and deserves to be presented with honesty and integrity.
-
Intellectual Property: If you’re inspired by someone else’s work, celebrate it and give credit where it’s due!
3. How We Show Up
We ask everyone—attendees, speakers, vendors, volunteers, and staff—to:
-
Greet each other with kindness and professionalism
-
Use language that lifts others up, especially when opinions differ
-
Foster an atmosphere of collaboration and shared learning
-
Be mindful that your words and actions have impact
-
Offer feedback with thoughtfulness and care
-
Create space for everyone to feel seen, heard, and safe
4. Behavior That Doesn’t Belong Here
We’re building a space rooted in respect. The following behaviors go against our values and won’t be tolerated:
-
Harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind
-
Yelling, aggression, or abusive language
-
Unwanted touching or inappropriate advances
-
Explicit content or language in public areas
-
Repeated disruptions or disrespect toward speakers or participants
-
Unauthorized photography, video, or audio recording
-
Stalking or following others in or outside of the venue
5. Reporting a Concern
If something doesn’t feel right—say something. You can report concerns:
-
In Person: Visit the front desk or speak to any team member.
-
By Email: Send a note to hello@hypnosisconference.org All messages are confidential.
-
Via Staff: Our volunteers and staff are happy to direct you to someone who can help.
We’ll handle all reports professionally and privately, with your safety and comfort as our top priority.
6. What Happens If the Code Is Violated
If a participant violates this Code, we may take appropriate action, including:
-
A gentle reminder or formal warning
-
Removal from the event (without refund)
-
Suspension from future conferences
We truly hope it never comes to this—but we take your well-being seriously.
7. Extra Tips for a Great Experience
-
Be mindful of session timing so presenters can stay on track
-
Respect others’ comfort levels—especially with demos
-
When sensitive topics come up, approach them with empathy
8. Where This Code Applies
This Code of Conduct is in effect at all official conference spaces, breakout rooms, networking areas, vendor booths, and social events connected to Hypnosis World.
